Ashburton first team hosted South Devon on one of the hottest days of the year.
Unfortunately skipper Steve Edmonds lost the toss and South Devon elected to bat on a superb looking strip. They got off to a great start as Mark Andrews (62) and James Allen (53) put on 124 for the opening wicket in good time. The game changed when the spinners were introduced though, as Aditya More (3 for 22) made the breakthrough and in conjunction with Matt Churchill (3 for 28) ran through the South Devon top order. Edmonds (3 for 31) came back at the end to dismiss the tail as South Devon's last 8 wickets fell for just 21 runs added and they were all out for 176 in the 41st over.
Ashburton raced off in reply as Lloyd White (25) and George Yabsley (18) added 48 inside the first six overs. Allen (2 for 45) and Lahiru Samaradivakara (1 for 26) made this 57 for 3 but More and Toby Pascoe then produced a fine unbroken partnership of 120 as Ashburton emerged comfortable 7 wicket winners in the 31st over. More finishing on 62 and Pascoe on 34.

Ashburton second team travelled to play Yelverton seconds and were asked to field first. Yelverton posted 217 for 2 in their 40 overs thanks to 106 from Geoff Brain and 70no from James Casey. Robin Lambert and George Marshall the wicket takers.
In reply Ashes were all out for 188 in the 39th over. Marcus West (34), Phil Pascoe (30), Greg Robinson (26) and Jack Warren (17) were the main run getters. Gary Hutchins took 4 for 34 for the hosts.
